peace love summer

WHATS UP WORLD

Summer is honestly the best time of year, I have decided . This past week has been filled with some crazy times, and I can't wait to see whats in store next!!! In my free time , I downloaded some super cute fonts off of pinterest , made a timelapse video of me sketching some deep quotes , avoided reading huck finn (summer assignment) and learned to play wagon wheel & you and i on the ukelele . Food adventures part two has commenced , with meals at a variety of places including -- la gloria , zitos , taco c , central market , p terrys , a diner , panera,  & the list goes on and on. One day , we went tubing on the comal river. The rapids are #thrilling and its actually really pretty out there . At dairy queen afterwards , I got a blizzard with the best ice cream to cookie dough ratio in the world . For the fourth of july , we went up to Austin with some family friends . They have fireworks right on lake austin , and I played around with a light trail app . I wish I could live in austin everywhere you go is so artsy and all the people seem to be a different type of cool . I ended up finishing Its Kind Of A Funny Story and LOVED it . As a review said , "it's a book about depression that's not the least bit depressing". When the main character goes to the hospital after a series of events , he meets a bunch of other quirky, crazy people who he develops cute relationships with . I loved reading about all the random characters and seeing how they interacted with each other . Ultimately , it sends the message that everyone is a little messed up , even if some hide it better than others , and if we embrace this fact we can start to really live again . The novel also really puts in perspective how the stress of school really has the ability to eat away at some people , and how important it is to understand that grades and ranks shouldn't be part of our budding identities -- something very important to remember as college looms!!! Speaking of school , our schedules came out and it looks like I have a lot of classes with friends and I am actually really pumped for junior year (except I don't feel like an upperclassmen but it's ok). Lots of my friends have returned from some awesome trips , but I also spent a day making care packages for some friends off at camp!!! Some of the things inside included -- food/candy(obvi) , princess tattoos and princess cups , socks , inner tubes , coloring books (we act five) , bubbles, silly string and chalk :). Today we walked around pearl , then went back to Hannah's to play a card game (which I lost at) and took some sweet videos with her GoPro . I'm about to go on a late night sonic run w my senior friend, Amy, so i'll post more soon!!

pleasant pastimes

so i've been home from camp for about a week and half and i've been super busy doing basically nothing (which is totally ok with me right now)
me & my friends have done lots of spontaneous things and i have also had lots of time to do some creative things i never had time to do before
happy summer everyone!!!
this is my new photo wall, aren't the square photos cute?? literally posting photos on my dry wall (not my facebook wall lol) was actually really fun except that the first time around they were ALL slanted so that happened - - I guess I could have measured and planned it out but eh its supposed to be messy & fun. hopefully i can add cute mail and maybe some paper garlands???
does it look like we are in the wilderness??? heheh we decided to campout in jenna's backyard . we even had a campfire and made s'mores (fire in the summer is a terrible idea never do it) and i got a great opportunity to use my princess headlamp and my stash of glowsticks . disclaimer -- we ended up putting two fans in the tent but shh no one has to know. we basically just stayed up talking all night while listening to some jams , and we were woken up by the sunrise the next morning so we decided to go to broadway daily bread for some yummy treats

this is us eating ice cream and sonic -- two of our favorite places. most of our summer adventures are centered around getting food (#heightsgirlsarefat ???) but yolo amiright. i tried a nerd slush for the first time and they are actually so sweet and delightful

'tis me playing the ukelele that my dad bought in hawaii. i play the cello and i want to learn guitar so i decided ukelele was an easier instrument to learn in between. so far i can play let it go, im yours and ho hey (to an extent) but its super fun!! i wish i could sing, but ya win some ya lose some
i saw TFIOS the day after school got out and wow it was the cutest movie of my life. my entire row of friends shed buckets of tears and at one point i told my friend that she needed to  "control her breathing"
ansel elgort is also a super cute person and i think he nailed the role of augustus + shailene woodley did a good job too (even if she doesn't wash her hair and gets her water from a special spring)
idk but if you havn't seen the movie i highly recommend it - it makes you question what you are doing with your life and attempts to emphasize how precious it really is
did yall hear that the bench in amsterdam got stolen??? haha
oh, and the soundtrack of the movie is ON POINT , birdy and ed sheeran and M83 rock
so im reading this book currently and its a little graphic but i think i like it
its about a boy who gets really stressed about school & grades and i can relate a lot to those pressures
ya sure drinking and drugs are a problem, but with the people i hang out with the ultimate question is "what did you get on the chemistry test???"
as we get older, class rank and grades seem to define us and our future but i try to distance myself from believing that (its about learning, right?)
my good friend , ana , invited me and few friends to her ranch this past weekend . its a super pretty place and we spent lots of time taking pics with wildflowers & hay bails & meadows. we also swam, played cards and drove around these little vehicles made for terrain -- it was the best and i only got sunburnt a little bit

welp, my family ditched me for dinner tonight so maybe ill just eat ice cream instead??? going tubing tomorrow!!!
thanks for reading all about my silly way of entertaining myself & peace out
